Can I buy an unlocked Sprint Nextel phone on Ebay, and buy a BoostMobile Sim card to use for it?

I am planning on becoming a Boost Mobile customer, but I do not like there choices for phones. I want to buy one on Ebay for cheaper and better style. Can I buy an UNLOCKED sprint Nextel cell phone, and then go buy a starters kit from Boost Mobile (SIM CARD) to use ?|||Even though Sprint and Nextel are the same company, the operate two different networks. Boost Mobile runs on the Nextel network, not the Sprint one. You can definitely buy a Nextel phone from ebay or craigslist and use it on Boost. However, you need to make sure it's a Nextel phone and not a Sprint phone. All Nextel phones that work on Boost are made by Motorola so do not buy anything else if you want to remain compatible. You should also check the model number. The compatible ones start with a single letter "i" and ends in a 3 digit number. Do not buy any of the older Nextel phones that have 2 digit model numbers nor any of the hybrid phones that start with the letters "ic".

Have you looked at the new Boost i465 Clutch? It come either in red or black and is pretty cool for texting.|||Yes, you can do that.

Call Boost Mobile and inquire about their network. Have them tell you what's the frequency that they're working under. may be GSM 800/900/1800/1900 Mhz or maybe iDEN 800/900 Mhz and so on.

After you know what's the frequency you just pick a phone that's compatible. look at the specs before you buy.

Sites like gsmarena.com or phonearena.com come in handy at times like these.|||Yes, You Can Because They Are Both CDMA Carriers as Long as You Have a CDMA Carrier With a CDMA Phone it Will work|||Cheaper and better, yeah
